Tucker’s Doodle Farm Healthy Puppy Guarantee
At Tucker’s Doodle Farm, we are confident that our puppies will be happy and healthy when we send them home with you. We health test and provide high-quality, nutritious food to increase the likelihood of long, healthy lives for our puppies. Unfortunately, any puppy could develop health problems over time. We are confident in our healthy and ethical breeding standards and are proud to offer the following two-year health guarantee. This puppy’s health is guaranteed for a period of two years from the date of birth to be free of any congenital health defects that would severely impair the dog’s quality of life. If a congenital health problem is confirmed by a veterinarian of the breeder’s choice (expense to be paid by the buyer), a replacement puppy of equal value will be provided when available. The buyer also has the option of reimbursement of any expenses to treat conditions covered by this agreement up to the price paid to the seller for the puppy.
Your new puppy has had its 8-week visit with a licensed veterinarian, and no health concerns were found. It has been treated for worms and has received its first set of puppy shots. Buyer has the option to have a licensed veterinarian perform an Initial Health Assessment of the puppy within 10 business days of transfer of the puppy, at buyer’s sole cost. If a licensed veterinarian determines, within this timeframe, that the puppy suffers from a genetically inherited disease, and upon seller’s timely receipt of notice as described, buyer must then notify seller and provide seller the contact information for the licensed veterinarian who made the determination and provide all records relating to the determination within 48 hours of the determination. In the event that there are considerable problems as determined by the veterinarian, the buyer must contact the seller for an exchange of a puppy of equal value. If no puppies are currently available, the buyer will be placed on a waiting list for the next available puppy as a replacement. The buyer also has the option of reimbursement of any expenses to treat conditions covered by this agreement up to the price paid to the seller for the puppy.
This guarantee is valid until the puppy is two years old. This guarantee will be voided if the dog/puppy has not been spayed or neutered by one year of age. Check with your veterinarian, but this is typically recommended between six and nine months of age. The breeder will not be responsible for any veterinary, transportation, or other expense incurred. At no time will reimbursement for veterinary care exceed the purchase price of your puppy.
The buyer is responsible for the next sets of puppy shots given by a veterinarian. Please refer to puppy’s health record. The buyer is also advised not to take the puppy into public places such as: puppy parks or other unknown outdoor areas or allow it to socialize with dogs that may be unvaccinated until its immunizations are completed. Parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their feces. Cross-contamination can even potentially cause the virus to be transmitted by someone who has been in contact with a dog carrying the virus. Unvaccinated dogs and puppies younger than four months old are most at risk for contracting this virus.
Seller’s guarantee does NOT apply with regard to the puppies weight, training difficulties, temperament, bite, descended testicles, digestive conditions common among the breed, or ear infections common among the breed; problems arising from allergies, housing policies, marital problems, general incompatibility; problems arising from the failure to provide routine preventative health care, vaccines, parasite and flea control, or dental care; problems arising from trauma or abuse the dog/puppy or the failure to provide adequate housing, kenneling, training, or exercise to the dog/puppy; and any other problems not related to a genetically inherited disease. Any health guarantee provided under this Agreement is non-transferrable and shall not extend to any party beyond the Buyer. Any health guarantee provided under this Agreement or otherwise shall be rendered void if surgical treatment is performed on the Dog without prior notice to Seller.
Seller’s guarantee does NOT include coverage for common parasites as they can be easily contracted in their new home and environment. Those common parasites include all worms, coccidia and giardia. While in our care, we have wormed your puppy at least three times and have taken all preventative measures to reduce the risk of these common parasites. The breeder does not guarantee and assumes no responsibility for environmental problems. Environmental refers to abuse, neglect, teasing or failing to train the dog/puppy properly. The breeder strongly suggests that the buyer take their new pet to obedience classes once they have been fully vaccinated and cleared by your veterinarian.
